Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism. He is worshipped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu and also by some as the supreme God in his own right
Krishna's maternal uncle Kansa, who was an evil king and had kept her parents - Vasudeva and Devaki - in the captivity, sent the demon Aghasura to kill Krishna. He assumed the form of long snake and opened his mouth against a mountain, disguising it as a cavern. The cowherd boys entered the mouth of the snake mistaking it to be a cave. To save the cowherd boys, Krishna entered the demon and increased his size, choking the demon.
Aghasura suffocated and finally his life burst out through a hole on the top of his head.
