Dhumavati is a form of Hindu Goddess Shakti. She is one of the ten Mahavidyas or Wisdom Goddesses. Dhumavati means the smoky one. Dhumavati was born when Parvati had devoured Lord Shiva and smoke had come out of her because Shiva had opened her third eye. This is why she is also known as an eternal widow Goddess and depicted in white clothes without ornaments. The goddess symbolically represents the renunciation and remover of agitation and depression.
