Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism. He is worshipped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu and also by some as the supreme God in his own right
Kubera - the God of wealth - had two sons Nalakubera and Manigreeva - who turned to trees due to a curse. They were foretold that they would be relieved from this curse by the mercy of Supreme god Vishnu. These trees were standing outside Krishna's house in Gokul village. During his childhood, Krishna was a mischiveous kid and due to this, his mother, Yashoda tied him to a wooden mortar. Krishna crawled along with the wooden mortar and the mortar got stuck in between the two trees, breaking the two trees and releasing the cursed demi-gods. Therefore, the curse had been revoked by Krishna - the eighth incarnation of supreme god Vishnu.
