Ramanandsagar Sagar Ke Jeevan Ki Akath Kahani; is the recently released Hindi Version Book, biography of Late Dr. Ramanand Sagar, published by Prabhat Prakashan and written by his son, Mr. PremSagar. The poignant book contains the personal memoirs written by a devoted son for his loving and ideal father.

It details the life of Ramanand Sagar (birth name Chandramouli) from his birth in a small place called Asal-Guruke near Lahore in Undivided India in the year 1917 to his journey as a human being and a writer as he was destined to make the Ramayana series at the ripe age of 70 years for which he achieved worldwide fame and recognition. It also traces back his ancestry to the early 17th century to a wealthy Punjabi Khastriya Chopra family from Peshawar (current day Pakistan) who migrated to the valleys of Kashmir. 

The book is about the legendary man who once worked as clerk and soap vendor, journeying to Bombay creating his first film Barsaat which was a massive hit and several other silver jubilee hits like Ghunghat, Zindagi, Arzoo, Ankhen, Geet, Lalkar to making history with the creation of television History’s legendary RAMAYAN which as per BBC figures, had been viewed by over 650 million people worldwide of which, 40 million viewers regularly watched it on its first telecast. Setting a Limca Record for the “World’s Most Viewed Mythological Serial”.

Prem Sagar

Prem Sagar is the Son of Late Dr. Ramanand Sagar. He was the marketing director of Sagar Arts for 30 years. He has also been a director and producer, known for Ankhen (1968), Alif Laila (1997) and Charas (1976). Technical advisor and also the Marketing Director for ‘Ramayan’ the blockbuster in the history of Indian T.V. Very first motion picture ‘Lalkar’ won him numerous awards. Bagged over 15 awards for photography of ‘JalteBadan’, ‘Charas’, ‘Ram Bharose ‘ etc.

Won over 20 awards all India for TV serials. Amongst: Indian Television Academy’s-100 TV Personalities - who created history in the broadcast medium. Has also received the honour of being an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain (ARPS) as well as the honour of Artiste Federation Internationale de l’Arts Photographique – Paris. Has received International Recognition winning the UNESCO Award in Tokyo instituted by Asian Cultural Centre Silver Medal at Oregon State Fair USA and two Bronze Medals at Santiago Chile.

Won the Gold Medal for best academic student and also received Silver Medal for best photographed film at FTII-Pune.Member: Selection board Union Public service Commission of India.Lecturer,Examiner & in the Governing Council at FTII.
