Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism. He is worshiped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu and also by some as the supreme God in his own right
The inhabitants of village, Vrindavan worship the god of sky and thunder, Indra, to thank him for rains. But Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu, instead asks everyone to worship mount Govardhan because the mountain attracts cloud and brings rain and also offers herbs and grass. Envied by this, Indra orders clouds to rain unceasingly. Krishna lifts the Govardhan mountain and provides shelter to the villagers from the rain.
Indra understands the capability of Krishna and apologizes.
