Mercury Yantra – the sacred geometrical diagram to invoke planet Mercury (Budda) – the ruler of Buddhi (intellect). Budha is the divine personification of planet Mercury. In Hindu mythology, Budha is a Deva (demi-god) who is the son of Moon god Chandra and goddess Tara (planet Jupiter’s wife)and bestows intelligence. He is a part of Hindu system of celestial bodies – Navagraha. A strong position of Budha in horoscope awakens the mind and bestows a person with great and light-hearted personality. Mercury Yantra is contained in a Bhupur (a square with 4 T-shaped doors), the doors give access to the Yantra. Inside the Bhupur are eight petals, representing the eight elements of the world – space, air, fire, water, earth, mind, intellect, and ego. The Yantra is Blue in colour. Blue is a cold colour. It has a calming effect on the emotions, thus corresponds to the rule of Budha. The six pointed star inside the circle of petals is a combination of upward and downward pointing triangle – the union of male and female energy. This superimposition of two traingles represents a balanced geometry.

Pieter Weltevrede

Pieter Weltevrede is a Master Sacred-Artist based out of the Netherlands. After a many years of guidance, under his guru Late Harish Johari a successful author, a gifted painter and sculptor, a lifetime scholar, an inspiring teacher, a splendid cook, an Ayurvedic massage miracle, etc, Pieter embarked on his own journey amalgamating ancient Indian knowledge with his own western sensibilities evolving an art form that appeals to todays international audience. He has been practicing his art form from the last 40 years now.

His original paintings are in water colors on silk with a wash-technique that gives them a very three-dimensional feel. The complexity and detail in his works are a super-human endeavour as he continues to live a mundane life travelling between the Western World & India.
