| Sagarworld.com is the official website for the upcoming theme park called Sagar World, the first of which will be situated on the outskirts of Navi Mumbai with a total of 9 theme parks all over India. The website will be an all inclusive internet solution for anything connected with Spiritualism, Mythology and Ancient History and Heritage of our great country India.
The website will be a comprehensive and interactive site on Indian culture and mythology (reflecting the vision behind the park) where people interested in this subject can learn, interact, play games and quizzes, ask questions and get answers, blog, study, watch videos, purchase merchandize all related to the theme of mythology, Hindu Scriptures, Yoga and Spiritualism. There will be sections on Ramayan, Krishna, Vikram Aur Betal, Ganga Maiya, Sai Baba, Durga, Travelling (Yatras), Merchandizing and Shopping Cart, Astrology, Yoga and Tantra, etc. We are expecting it to be a very popular site with millions of hits per year. This will also indirectly make people learn about the Sagar World project in Karjat and generate interest in them to visit it.
Since the physical theme park is more than 2 years away from opening its gates to the public, the website in the meanwhile will serve to build up publicity, loyal customers and awareness of the Sagar brand and the upcoming theme park.
It will already create a community of netizens who want to learn more about these subjects, purchase merchandize and support our activities. Once the theme park opens the website will continue to remain the same with the addition of the activities that will be centered around the theme park like on-line ticketing sales, inquires for types of shows and their timings etc. (which will not be present there currently). Eventually this combination of online and off line will work the best.
DETAILS OF SAGAR WORLD THEME PARK
Project: A spiritual theme park named "Sagar World" near "Karjat Phata" (fork of Karjat Road and Mumbai-Pune highway), outskirts of Navi Mumbai targeted towards the city of Mumbai and the tourists it brings. Sagar World will have an animated mythological museum, themed rides, central park, temple city, amphi-theatre, Dr. Ramanand Sagar Museum, food & beverage, merchandising of souvenirs and a 50 room 4-star hotel and spa. The concept is of "Fun with Wisdom" or "Edutainment" where children are able to enjoy while they soak in the knowledge from the various stories of Indian mythology. Promoters: The Sagar Group of "Ramayan" TV serial fame. Ramayan is estimated to have been seen by 650 million people world-wide according to BBC.
Scalability: The Mumbai project is only a "seed" project. There are plans to cover 9 'Worlds' for example Ganga World in Haridwar, Krishna World in Mathura and Shiv World in Benaras, Ramayan World in Delhi. These places account for 50% of India's total domestic tourist population of 250 million people. The last phase of expansion is in International Tourist Destinations such as Bali, Mauritius, Trinidad, London etc. There are over 25 million NRI's around the world. There is a tremendous interest in Indian culture and religion such as Yoga, Ayurveda and Meditation etc. which can be tapped through such venues under the realm of "spiritual tourism". There are an estimated 25 million people practicing Yoga in North America.
Site: Access is from the National Highway NH - 4 which goes from Mumbai to Pune and a distance of 500 mt. on the road going towards Karjat from the highway.
The site is about 15 kilometers from Panvel, which is the outer limit of the town of Navi Mumbai from where one takes the NH-17 the highway to Goa. Sagar World sits under the foothills of Matheran which is a hill-station frequented by "Mumbaikars". Matheran receives 5 lakhs people annually. Hence the site is on the hub for all destinations South of Mumbai i.e. Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Matheran, Lonavala etc. Panvel, is also the selected site for the second international airport to come up in the year 2010.
